Wellington Inclusive Dance (WIDance) will be performing at Tawa Train Station on Friday 26 February, and at Wellington Railway Station on Saturday 27 February, as part of the What If The City Was A Theatre? festival.
Both performances will start at 4.30pm and go for two hours. However, they are not intended as performances where the audience arrives before the start of the performance and stays until the end. Instead, they will consist of vignettes designed to be watched by people sitting in passing trains or coming and going on the platform, although anyone who wants to stand on the platform watching is welcome to do so.
The vignettes will tell stories of greetings and farewells, meetings and partings, long and short journeys, missed trains and lost connections. The dancers will use props such as handkerchiefs, banners, and suitcases to help them tell their stories.
The performances will both be wheelchair accessible, and touch tour and audio description bookings are available by emailing widancenz@gmail.com.
